Topological Concepts Applied to Image Segmentation

Abstract
This paper presents an automatic method relevant to medical image segmentation of magnetic resonance image with tumors, by means of fuzzy hybrid filter, and connected component extraction. A fuzzy hybrid filtering technique (FH3F) is used to denoise the medical image and the topological concepts are applied to extract connected components and edge detection.
